A few months ago, I was hospitalized for the better part of a week.
It was terrifying, chaotic, and very triggering for me. Partly due to the circumstances, but partly because I wasn’t sure when I would return to work.
For years, I hid my chronic illness out of fear.
Now stack on the fact that everyone would have to know for me to get through what is still a tough season of my life, health-wise.
It was a lot for me to carry, even with the support of my loved ones and fellow Chronic Bosses.
And while I’m glad to be okay, I’m even more proud of what happened during this time. All while I was recovering, not working.
Let’s talk about it.
Not because I’m superhuman.
Not because I “pushed through.”
But because I built my business in a way that doesn’t require me to be okay every single day.
And if you’ve got chronic conditions and big ambition like me, this is something you’ll want to hear.
Because the biggest lie in online business is that “you need to show up consistently to succeed.”
Post daily.
Always be “on.”
Stay visible 24/7.
That model assumes your body cooperates, and most of ours don’t.
So how in the world did I close not one, or two, but three $2,500 in sales while in the hospital without ads, sales calls, emails, or IG stories?
I had already done the foundational work.
Clear positioning.
Activating messaging.
A process built for me.
Let’s break this down.
I don’t market myself as “another sales expert.”
I’m known for my unique approach to sales that gets you paid faster…without pressure.
And I stand for a specific belief about selling—that fast sales are aligned sales.
They should feel good and happen fast.
When your positioning is sharp like this, there’s no need for convincing, endless explanations, or constant clarification.
They already know you’re for them, and they buy as soon as they’re able.
It happens fast, burns bright, and sticks.
My messaging isn’t vague, and it doesn’t sound like anyone else’s.
I speak to the specific problems and opportunities of my favorite clients in a way that makes them feel seen.
And I do it in my voice.
When someone reads your content and thinks:
“Finally. Someone gets it!”
You don’t have to chase them.
They move towards you like a moth to a flame.
That’s not manipulation. It’s alignment.
Some even call this magnetic (some being me 😉).
This is the one my Chronic Bosses need to take seriously.
Because ambition without the infrastructure to support it is self-sabotage.
During this time, I had:
So when my body forced me to stop…my business didn’t listen.
It kept running in support of me—something for which I am forever grateful.
When our health is unpredictable, we don’t have the luxury of relying on “I’ll just show up harder next week.”
We need systems.
We need clarity.
We need to preserve our energy.
This means a sales process that isn’t built for “regular people.”
You’ve seen and felt this difference. When anything requires us to be energetic, charismatic, and online every single day, it breaks.
This isn’t about “passive income.”
It’s about sustainability.
It’s about building something that respects your ambition and your body.
Because you can be chronically ill and wildly successful, but not if your model requires you to be someone other than who you are.
As a fellow Chronic Boss, I know you’re not here to play small.
So here’s my question for you, in big letters (just for fun):
If you had to disappear for two weeks, what would still sell?
If the answer is “nothing”…that’s not a personal failure.
It’s a gap to be fixed.
And it can be, with the right positioning, messaging, and process.
Not so you can work less, but so you can keep going even on the days when your body says, “let’s pause.”
I’ve spent years quietly building:
🔥 Systems that package my expertise
🔥 Sales flows that feel good, not forced
🔥 Strategies that support me (ALL of me)
So to have life throw me this curveball, and NOT have it be devastating?
For my business to keep running without me?
To have it pay me during a crisis?
It proved that I built something great that now supports me as much as I’ve stepped up over the years to sustain it.
Let this be the proof you need to have a business that supports you as much, and hopefully more, than you support it.
P.S. You inspire all of us to keep going for what we want! To dream bigger, to achieve more, and to be better each day. We see you, we celebrate you, and we walk alongside you with our chronic conditions and big ambitions! xx
