Intersectional Advocacy and Diverse Voices

Elevating LGBTQIA+ and other diverse chronic voices to center equity, visibility, and power in advocacy.

Chronic illness shows up differently depending on who you are and where you come from. In this column, Amber explores how LGBTQIA+ identity, race, culture, and lived experience shape the chronic journey. Through storytelling, research, and real community voices, she highlights the ways these identities impact care, visibility, and access. This is a space for truth-telling, representation, and empowerment, where diverse chronic voices are seen, heard, and celebrated as catalysts for change.
