From Hiding to Healing
At just nine years old, Tiffany was in a car accident that killed her father and left her with a paralyzed arm and a PTSD diagnosis. For years, she hid her disability by wearing long sleeves, avoiding questions, and silencing her story. “I spent the first decade plus after I became disabled really internalizing that I shouldn’t share any of those details with anyone,” she said.
Creating the Space She Needed
It wasn’t until college that she began to reclaim her narrative. In 2009, Tiffany founded Diversability as a student group at Georgetown. It was misunderstood at first, but she persisted, and that persistence paid off. What began as a student-led initiative became a national, now global, movement.
From Events to Ecosystem
After college, Tiffany hosted her first NYC event. It sold out. People asked, “When’s the next event?” That night, she knew she had tapped into something vital. Since then, Diversability has grown to include cities across the country, a thriving paid membership, and a wealth of free resources — all focused on disability inclusion and community building.
Educating Millions Through the Anti-Ableism Series
On TikTok, Tiffany launched the Anti-Ableism Series, a viral video collection answering the question: “How can I be a better ally to the disability community?” It now includes over 350 videos and has surpassed 5 million views. That series evolved into her book, The Anti-Ableist Manifesto, built around her signature “Me-We-Us” framework — a roadmap from self-awareness to systemic change.
Centering Joy, Community, and Legacy
Tiffany’s work is rooted in connection. “Ableism gains its power by making us think we have none,” she said. “Part of that is by keeping us isolated and alone.” That’s why she continually returns to joy and belonging, from hosting rock climbing birthday parties to mentoring emerging disabled leaders.
